Watching and Working

Election Day is approaching and soon we will all be heading to the polls to cast our votes.

Before that happens though, there are several opportunities for dedicated citizens to do their civic duty and volunteer for important jobs on election day.

Earlier this week we encouraged you to contact your local county or city registrar to become an Officer of Elections. These positions are very important to our electoral process and it is important that local precincts are represented by both political parties. The deadline is TOMORROW, October 16th! All you have to do is click this link to contact your local registrar to sign up. You'll be contacted and trained prior to election day.

The Republican party and individual candidates also need Poll Watchers. Acording to Virginia Election Code, a Poll Watcher "Must be a registered voter; one person per party per polling place at a given time but no more than three total for any organization; independent candidates can also appoint a poll watcher. Prohibits candidates from serving as poll watchers." To find out more information about Poll Watchers you may visit THIS LINK.

We encourage you to consider if you can do a little extra this election day!

Thank you for your service!
Onward to Election Day!
